I teach IB History only, mainly at HL, and I’ve spent the last nine years working with Diploma students on Paper 2, Paper 3 and the IA. My own research was on twentieth-century Europe, so I’m especially comfortable with authoritarian states, war and peace, and Cold War topics. Lessons are usually a mix of source work, essay planning and marking real student paragraphs, with honest feedback on what would gain marks.

Hi, I’m an IB History tutor and I keep my lessons pretty practical. Most students come to me when their essays feel too descriptive, so we work on making arguments sharper and using evidence properly. I’ve tutored the Diploma for six years, with a lot of IA support along the way. I particularly enjoy teaching rights and protest movements, though I cover the full IB History syllabus and help with timed writing too.

I tutor IB History for students who want more than a list of dates. A typical session might involve taking apart an examiner report, rewriting a Paper 2 introduction, or checking whether an IA question is actually workable. I’ve been doing this for eight years and have worked with both SL and HL students. My favourite area to teach is decolonisation, especially Algeria and Indochina, because the debates are rich.
